BugSmash uses role-based permissions to control who can edit or delete comments across projects and workspaces. This helps to maintain better collaboration, control, moderation, security, and accountability during reviews.

Workspace Owner/Admin

Full moderation access

Workspace Owners/Admins have the highest level of moderation control and can delete or edit any comment across the workspace.

Project Owner

Can delete/edit and moderate all comments inside their assigned project

The one who creates the project is automatically assigned to a project owner role

Members

Members can only delete and edit the comments that they have added themselves.

Collaborators

Collaborators can’t be a project owner - since they are usually external contributors like freelancers, QA testers, etc.

Even if a collaborator creates a project, the ownership is automatically assigned to the workspace owner

Collaborators:

  • Cannot delete/edit project comments even if they've created a project

  • They can only edit/delete their own comments

This helps maintain secure internal project control.

Guests

Guests can only edit and delete their own comments.
