Why it's useful
As projects evolve, you may need to remove team members, clients, or external collaborators who no longer require access.
BugSmash allows you to manage access at both the workspace and folder level, making it easy to keep your workspace organized and secure.
Understanding User Types
Members
Members are part of your internal team and have access to all the projects and folders within the dashboard
If a member no longer needs access, they can only be removed from the Workspace Level
Collaborators & Guests
Collaborators and Guests are external users who only have access to certain folders and projects that have been shared with them.
They do not automatically gain access to everything inside your workspace.
Depending on how they've been invited, they may have access to:
One or more shared folders
Specific projects within folders
Multiple folders and projects
Removing a Member
Members can only be removed from the workspace level.
Steps
Open Workspace Settings.
Go to Members & Guests.
Select the Members tab.
Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) next to the member.
Select Remove User.
Once removed, the member will no longer be able to access any projects on the workspace.
Removing a Collaborator or Guest from the Workspace
If you'd like to remove all access for a collaborator or guest:
Steps
Open Workspace Settings.
Go to Members & Guests.
Open the Collaborators or Guests tab.
Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) next to the user.
Select Remove User.
This removes their access to all folders and projects shared within that workspace.
Removing a Collaborator or Guest from a Folder
If you'd like a user to keep access to other shared content but remove access to a specific folder:
Steps
Open the folder.
Click Share Settings.
Locate the user in the access list.
Click Remove Access.
The user will lose access to that folder and any content associated with it.
Common Scenarios
Remove all access
A freelancer or client has completed their work and should no longer have access to any shared content.
➡️ Remove them from the Workspace Level
Remove access to a specific folder
A collaborator still needs access to other folders but should no longer access one particular folder.
➡️ Remove them from that folder's Share Settings.
When a Collaborator or Guest has access to some projects within the folder
In some cases, a collaborator may only have access to a few projects inside a folder rather than the entire folder itself.
You can still view and manage their access from the folder's Share Settings, making it easier to understand who has access without checking every project individually.
Tips
Remove users from the workspace when they should no longer have access to anything.
Use folder-level access management when you'd like users to keep access to other shared folders or projects.
Review access permissions regularly to keep your workspace secure and organized.
