Private Comments

Why it’s useful
Not all feedback is meant for everyone. BugSmash gives you two levels of privacy — private notes for internal coordination and project-wide private mode to isolate guest feedback — so sensitive discussions stay controlled without breaking collaboration.

How it works

1. Private Comments (Private Notes)
- You can mark an individual comment as Private before posting.
- Private comments are visible only to Owners and Members.
- Guest users cannot see private comments at all.

2. Project Private Mode
- You can enable Private Mode at the project level.
- When enabled, guests can only see their own comments.
- Guests cannot see comments from other guests.
- Owners and Members can still see all feedback.
- No-login guest commenting must be disabled for Private Mode to work correctly.

Example
> A project has multiple external reviewers. With Project Private Mode enabled, each guest only sees their own feedback. Meanwhile, a developer leaves a private comment saying “Refactor after approval,” which is visible only to the internal team.

Tips
- Use private comments for internal notes, technical discussions, or cost-related feedback.
- Use Project Private Mode when sharing links with multiple external reviewers to avoid cross-visibility.
- Before final delivery, review private comments to ensure nothing important remains internal.
