What is BugSmash?
BugSmash is an all-in-one visual feedback and collaboration suite. It lets teams collect comments directly on websites, designs, videos, PDFs, or any creative asset — and integrates with tools like ClickUp, Jira, and Asana for seamless action.

Who uses BugSmash?
Product managers, designers, developers, marketing teams, and agencies. Basically, anyone tired of screenshots and scattered Slack threads.

Is BugSmash free?

🔹 Projects & Collaboration

Can clients give feedback without logging in?
Yes! Enable Guest Comments under Project → Share. Guests can open a secure link, leave comments, and reply — no signup required.

How do private comments work?
Private comments are visible only to workspace members. Use them for internal discussions or QA notes that clients shouldn’t see.

Can I disable commenting once a project is approved?
Absolutely. Go to Project Settings → Comment Controls → Disable Comments. Existing comments remain visible but locked.

Can I invite multiple clients to one project?
Yes, as long as you trust them to see each other’s feedback. Otherwise, duplicate the project and share separate guest links.

🔹 Integrations & Automation

Which tools does BugSmash integrate with?
Currently: ClickUp, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Zapier, and Webhooks. Two-way sync (updates coming back into BugSmash) is in development.

How do I connect my ClickUp or Jira account?
Workspace Settings → Integrations → [Tool Name] → Connect. Then, per project, select the target list or board.

Can I build my own integration?
Yes — use Webhooks for real-time event data or our REST API (in beta) for deeper automation.

🔹 Billing & Account

Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes. Plan changes take effect immediately with prorated billing. Access continues uninterrupted.

Will I lose data if I cancel my plan?
No. Projects and comments remain in read-only mode for 30 days. You can reactivate anytime during that window.

How do I get invoices or receipts?
All invoices are emailed automatically to the workspace owner and stored under Billing → Invoices.

🔹 Storage & Limits

What happens when I reach my storage limit?
You’ll see a warning. Either delete old files or purchase extra storage from the Billing page. No feedback is ever deleted automatically.

Do archived projects count toward storage?
Yes — but compressed. Archiving reduces storage impact by up to 70%.

🔹 Security & Privacy

Where is my data stored?
Secure cloud servers in ISO-certified data centers (regions vary by user). Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest (AES-256).

Is BugSmash GDPR compliant?
Yes. You can request data deletion or export anytime by contacting privacy@bugsmash.io.

Do you access my uploaded files?
No. Only you and your authorized team members can view uploaded assets.

🔹 Troubleshooting

Why can’t my client comment?
Check if:
1. Guest commenting is disabled.
2. The link expired.
3. The file or URL was replaced. Enable Allow Guest Comments again to fix.

My comments look misaligned — why?
If the underlying website layout changed after feedback, comment markers may shift. Use the Browser Extension to capture feedback tied to the correct DOM snapshot.

Does BugSmash work on mobile devices?
Yes — mobile browser commenting and reviewing are supported, though the desktop experience is more powerful.

Is there a desktop app?
Not yet, but it’s on the roadmap (planned for Q1 2026).
